Shantanu Nikhil - On Sale

This one's for all of you who loved this Monisha Jaisingh outfit on Queenie, but would prefer not having the cutouts. Lara, Genelia and Arpita also wore outfits with a lovely Grecian drape and shoulder detailing.

This one of course is by Shantanu Nikhil. It is available on www.desicouture.net for Rs. 24,000. They ship worldwide and is an amazing cocktail dress buy.

Lakme Fashion Week - Rocky S

Rocky S opened Fashion Week with his latest offerings. As with the other collections on the day, pastels seem to be what the fashionistas ordered.

The jewelled headbands are totally awesome. Love the almost bridal bling without being OTT. Could channel Aishwarya or Shilpa's bridal look with that patta with a little modern flair thrown in. The salwars are nice and short lengths seem to be coming back in. Don't like the bits of tulle hanging out in the dresses though :(

Liked Bipasha's sari but there seems to be something wrong happening at the top. The shrug/ extra fabric throws the outfit off and the styling leaves a lot to be desired. Her necklace is to-die-for. Queenie's jewellery adds the right amount of kick to all outfits and this necklace is no exception.

Lakme Fashion Week - Nikasha Tawadey

Nikasha's collection was comprised of nice earthy tones. The garments were all very wearable and here's a look courtesy rediff.com:

She started off with an exquisite white sari with an earthy orange border. It is a welcome relief from the usual bling that we have been served with. The other orange/ red blouses had a very interesting design as well. The lehengas are very romantic and dreamy and would make an excellent addition to any bride's wardrobe. For once, harem style pants actually look nice.

Would also like to make a note of the footwear. It coordinates very well with each ensemble and the models have been styled o-so-similarly, but the outfits make them look very different from each other. Loving this offering!!!! What about you???

Reliance BIG Pictures - The Bad

As usual, some people will always find the frumpiest of clothes in their closet to display to us.
Ok Mr. Bachchan please don't sue me for this!! But bahu rani Aishwarya seems to think she has come to a press conference. The assymetrical silk top, ill-fitting pants and boots do not look good together (don't think the top would look good anywhere). On a side note, why would you wear boots in Mumbai heat?
The blazer and the shirt are fine, but these denims really need to go. I would love to see Mr. Shroff in a better hair-do and not look like he rolled out of bed.
Ashu's better half is the worse of the duo here. The satin pants are, well, really really ugly and the waist-coat like top is a really bad match with those pants. Maybe on a nice skirt and it would have been a whole different story.
Ms. Lambba seems to have slept with her make-up on after the Fimfare awards and come straight to this party. The make-up overload, the bit too blingy clutch and the pose need to go. Her shoes were nice though.
Rekha came wearing the same velvet/ velour monstrosity that she wore to the Stardust(?) awards a year or so ago. Didn't like it then and it's still ugly now. Neck up she looks like the diva she is.
Neither sister makes an impact with their outfits. Riya does better than Raima but her LBD is slightly ill-fitting. Raima is wearing wayy to much of a shiny velvety fabric that no longer looks good even on curtains.
While I'm loving the pink of Kangana's outfit, the hair and the sucked in cheeks throw me off. This girl has amazing skin though.
Shahid Kapoor looks like the chocolate boy he is, but the outfit like Mrs. Bachchan's is inappropriate, The shirt should have been slightly shorter. He appears as though he turned up here from a bar fight.

Reliance BIG Pictures - The Good

Tina and Anil Ambani hosted a party for the who's who of Bollywood. Close on the heels of the Filmfare awards, there were some faces who didn't walk the previous red carpet and some who wore the uglies again. Here's a look at those who wowed us.
The Roshan family came out looking picture perfect. They could probably frame this one and put it up at home. Mama Roshan looks divine in her silk sari and the minimalist but high-impact necklace. Suzanne Roshan looks impeccable in her pant suit. The clutch and make up are bang on. And the men complement the women perfectly.
Dia Mirza looks gorgeous in a simple halter top. The make up is on target and gives her a nice fresh appearance rather than looking caked on.
On anyone else, this outfit would have looked ridiculous. Priety however pulls off this Manish malhotra with ease. That smile and clutch raise the outfit to a whole different level.
Sonali Bendre looks absolutely gorgeous in her simple LBD. The footwear is to be coveted. She and Goldie make a beautiful couple and seem soo much in love. *Touchwood*
Prachi Desai looks adorable in her outfit and her footwear (Michael Kors?) is very cute. The gal seems to have upped her game. Ekta Kapoor looks nice in her sheath dress however her sandals need to go NOW.
On anyone else her age, this top would look very inappropriate. However, Sridevi looks perfect. There is nothing to fault about this look.
Arjun Rampal makes an appearance without Mehr, but still looks HOT in this suit. The buttin down but untucked shirt looks very very nice.
Purab Kohli looks good in this suit. the white shirt breaks up the brown very well.
Shah Rukh Khan look amazing in this suit. His seemingly tried and tested formula of tee shirt inside the suit makes him look quite nice here. That cheeky smile adds an extra zing to the appearance.
